SR-47/I-110 INTERCHANGE NEAR VINCENT THOMAS BRIDGE CLOSED FOR ROADWAY UPGRADES OCTOBER 30-31

SAN PEDRO, Calif. – October 29, 2014 – The Port of Los Angeles has announced a two-day, overnight road closure on Thursday, October 30 and Friday, October 31, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., involving the connector from the Vincent Thomas Bridge/Westbound SR-47 to Northbound I-110, and to the Gaffey Street exit in San Pedro, as part of a major Port of Los Angeles interchange widening project to replace overhead signage.

The following alternate route is suggested to make the transition onto Northbound I-110:

-Exit the Vincent Thomas Bridge (SR-47) on
 Harbor Blvd.
-Left turn onto North Harbor Blvd.
-Continue onto Front Street and make a right at Pacific Ave.
-Make a left onto Northbound I-110 on-ramp after Channel Street
(for NB I-110 traffic)
-Make a left at Channel Street (for Gaffey Street traffic)

The SR-47/I-110 Project will widen the westbound connector to Northbound I-110 by adding a second lane that begins at the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro and extends to the John S. Gibson Boulevard off-ramp in Wilmington. Construction is paid for the by Port of Los Angeles, Federal Safe Accountable Flexible Efficient Transportation Equity Act (SAFETEA-LU), State of California Trade Corridor Improvement Fund (TCIF), and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) Prop C Funds.
