Santa Catalina Island has a rich, storied history, where soldiers lived, movies were made, couples fell in love and where warm hospitality abounds.
 
Located 22 miles south southwest of Los Angeles, Catalina is the southernmost island of the Channel Islands of California. Catalina is made up of two towns—the incorporated town of Avalon to the east end and unincorporated town of Two Harbors to the west end. The island is just 22 miles long and 8 miles across. Outside of the two towns is wilderness owned and operated by the Catalina Island Conservancy.
 
Most visitors and residents get around the island by foot, bike, or golf cart. Catalina's weather is described as a mild subtropical climate with warm temperatures year-round.
 
Getting to Catalina is easy: take a passenger ferry or helicopter from the Catalina Sea and Air Terminal, located at Berth 95, located at Harbor Boulevard and Swinford Street in San Pedro. The terminal offers ferry service through Catalina Express and helicopter service through Island Express.
