We invite your group to learn more about the
Port of Los Angeles. We speakers who can share information about the Port's rich history and provide a
general overview of Port operations and
programs.
A speaker presentation is a great opportunity
for you and your students to gain a rare
perspective of the Port of Los Angeles, the
nation's leading container port and vital
international gateway that contributes greatly
to the economic well-being for the southland.
While maintaining its competitive position in
the maritime industry, the Port of Los Angeles
remains steadfast in its commitment to
responsible, sustainable growth.
A speaker can be sent to career
day events and classroom discussions in addition
to group events. Sample presentation
topics include:

- Port History
The Port relies on dedicated and professional
employees, who volunteer their time from their
office responsibilities to fulfill speaking
requests. to arrange for a presentation,
please submit your request in writing 3-4 weeks
in advance of your date. you are welcome
to fax the request form on this page. if
you choose to send a letter on school
stationery, please include:
- name of your school with complete
address
- preferred date/time (an alternate date
and time is also very helpful)
- number of students (this will help us
provide sufficient handouts, etc.)
- contact information including your name
and cell phone number
- one topic of interest
- room number, address and any other
pertinent directions such as cross streets
and/or parking information (i.e. curb side
parking only)
The Port will do its very best to accommodate
your request, but fulfillment in not guaranteed.
Providing an alternate date/time is extremely
helpful and increases your changes of a speaker
during peak Spring season when career day
speakers are in high demand. a letter of
confirmation will be mailed to the teacher to
confirm the speaker's participation.
